Zenial Hotels S.L. received approval to build a four‑star hotel in the historic centre of Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, after the Local Historic Heritage Commission gave its sign‑off.

The new lodging will sit at Calle Larga 18 and feature 51 rooms with a total of 102 hotel beds.

The plan calls for a partial renovation of the existing structure, keeping the original façade intact.

The property is listed as residential and belongs to Jerez’s Historic Complex. It dates predominantly from the 20th century and carries Level IV archaeological protection, meaning any changes must respect its historic character.

Two ground‑floor commercial units will stay outside the hotel’s footprint, each retaining its own entrance from Calle Larga and continuing their current retail use.

The main entrance will open onto the street, leading to a reception area, shared spaces and a restaurant on the ground level.

Guest rooms will occupy the upper stories, while the basement is set aside for guest‑only amenities.

Those basement facilities will include a spa, a gym, a television room and a leisure area, creating a private zone for visitors.

Agustín Muñoz, Jerez’s first deputy mayor and delegate for the Historic Centre, called the project “good news for the whole city.” He said it expands the local hotel supply and strengthens Jerez’s reputation as a quality tourism destination able to draw investment. He also noted that the rehabilitation of historic buildings helps generate wealth and employment while supporting the wider regeneration of Jerez’s historic centre.

The approval is part of a wider programme of interventions authorized by the Heritage Commission. At the latest meeting, officials reported a total of 28 new projects involving public bodies, private companies and individual owners.

These coordinated efforts aim to regenerate Jerez’s historic core, balancing conservation with economic development.
