The 2027 FIA Formula One World Championship calendar has been officially announced following approval by the World Motor Sport Council. The season will feature 24 Grands Prix across 22 countries, along with 10 Sprint events. Pre-season testing kicks off in Bahrain from February 24 to 27, followed by the opening race in the same country before moving to Saudi Arabia.

The championship then travels to Australia, Japan, and China. The North American segment includes the Miami and Canadian Grands Prix. The European leg begins with the return of Portugal in June, following the Monaco Grand Prix. Türkiye rejoins the calendar in October, positioned between Azerbaijan and Singapore.
The closing phase of the season features races in Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo, and Las Vegas. The final two rounds take place in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The calendar spans five continents, combining historic venues with major global destinations to support Formula 1’s long-term sustainability goals through a more efficient geographical flow of events.
Sprint Events Expanded
Due to strong demand, the number of Sprint events has increased from six to ten for 2027. New hosts for Sprint racing include Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco, and Abu Dhabi. Returning venues for Sprint events are Montréal, Silverstone, Monza, São Paulo, and Lusail.
Fans in Monaco will enjoy two qualifying sessions as drivers work through the narrow streets of Monte Carlo. The expanded Sprint program aims to deliver more competitive action throughout the season for fans, promoters, broadcasters, and partners.

Leaders Weigh In
Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the FIA, described the calendar as “a strong reflection of the global appeal and continued growth of our sport.” He highlighted the 24 Grands Prix across five continents, the return of Portugal and Türkiye, and the expanded Sprint program as key elements that combine tradition, innovation, and fan engagement.
Ben Sulayem expressed gratitude to Formula One Management, promoters, national sporting authorities, FIA officials, volunteers, and all stakeholders for their collaboration and commitment.
Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, called the 2027 calendar “an incredible stage for another unforgettable season.” He emphasized the mix of iconic circuits and lively cities, noting that the expanded Sprint racing to ten events will bring even more intensity and wheel-to-wheel action to fans worldwide.
